A Little Bit of Everything

My days have been pretty much the same as usual… Walking 2 miles with the dog, eating, straightening up the house, shower, bed.

I took the dog for a 5 mile hike on Monday, and proceeded to lose my point and shoot camera while I was there. Sad smile  It was a bummer, but the hike was great and I was a little sore the next day.

Food:

A little of this. (seasoned potatoes, brisket and cheese)

A little of this. (whole grain pasta, sautéed spinach, diced tomatoes and tomato basil hummus)

My new running shoes!  My Dad bought me these for Christmas, but I ordered the wrong size and the exchange through the mail took a little while, but they are finally here!  (Thanks Dad!!) They are Mizuno Wave Alchemy 12’s (I used to have Mizuno Wave Alchemy 11’s and loved them, so decided to try the new version).  Of course I HAD to try them out, I’ve been really itching to run again but had to wait because my old shoes are completely shot.

My shins were a little sore to begin with from walking so much lately (going from zero walking to 2 miles a day in worn out shoes is apparently a bad idea… oops!) and the 5 mile hike probably didn’t help much either (I think I have a blister on my heel from the hike), but I did workout 1 from the Couch to 5k training plan and the shoes felt great, running again felt great… But I really have to take it slow because my shins are hurting and I don’t want to make things worse!  It’s kind of a bummer because I have such a strong desire to just go pound out three miles like I used to but I physically can’t do it yet.  It’s super frustrating, but you have to start somewhere!  And I’ll get there again.
